Banff Springs Golf Course, renowned for its panoramic beauty, it is both captivating and challenging. The optical illusions created by the mountains towering overhead can deceive the eye of even the most skilled player. Stanley Thompson, master golf course architect, used his expert talent when he designed the original 18 holes in 1928. Making the most of the natural landscape, he wove the course around majestic evergreens, in the shadow of the mountains and along the banks of two rivers. In 1989, 9 holes were added, resulting in 27 holes of championship layout. Recently the course has been fully restored back to the original Stanley Thompson design with modifications for today's long drive technology. It is common to be playing along side some magnificent elk.  Located about 50 minutes from the lodge.  Telephone: 403-762-6801
