The Nakoda Lodge & Conference Centre is located on the western edge of the Stoney Indian Reserve bordering beautiful Kananaskis Country, boasting magnificent views of Lake Chief Hector and the inspiring Rockies beyond.

The Lodge features 48 well-appointed guest rooms including executive suites with fireplaces, dining lodge and patio, conference facilities and outdoor patio, sauna, Jacuzzi, gift shop and access to traditional native activities.

Wesley First Nation established Nakoda Lodge in 1981 as a wilderness retreat to further promote understanding of cultural and spiritual traditions.

We have recently undergone extensive upgrades that have created a unique blend of tradition and comfort coupled with all the modern amenities that our guests anticipate.

Beverage Service

The Nakoda Lodge is situated on the Wesley First Nation - Stoney Tribe Reserve. Since our Dining Hall is a licensed facility, we offer both a "host bar" or a "cash bar" service and only Beer, Wine and Coolers are served since there is a no hard liquor policy on the Stoney Tribe Reserve. Prices & Wine List is available upon request and please feel free to ask any questions you may have in regards to the Beverage Services.

Accommodation

The Nakoda Guest Lodge has forty-five (45) well - appointed standard guest rooms offering breathtaking views of Chief Hector Lake and the Bow Valley country. We also have two (2) Executive Suites with breathtaking views of Chief Hector Lake & the Canadian Rockies. All Bedroom Rates include a Continental Breakfast based on single/double occupancy.

A Standard rate of $179.00 per bedroom plus applicable taxes will be made available to your guests, based on single/double occupancy. All bedroom blocks established will be on a final release of thirty (30) days prior to your event date. Standard bedrooms offer two (2) queen beds per room, coffee maker with coffee, Lakeview or Forest view and we have forty-five (45) of these standard bedrooms.

King Jacuzzi Suite offers one (1) king bed, full stone-wood burning fireplace, large Jacuzzi tub, fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee, wrap around views of the Lake, Forest & Mountains and is traditionally decorated @ $279.00 and we have one (1) of these King Jacuzzi Suites.

King Suite offers one (1) king bed, full stone-wood burning fireplace, fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee, wrap around views of the Lake, Forest & Mountains and is traditionally decorated @ $219.00 and we have one (1) of these King Suites.

As of this year we have started our Tipi Village and prices are available upon request.

Bedroom Block Policy:
All Bedroom Blocks are to be confirmed and guaranteed seven (7) days prior to event and all last minute cancellations are to be made seventy-two (72) hours prior to the event date. Bedrooms not cancelled or used will be charged to Master Account unless other arrangements have been made by the Sales & Marketing Office.

Nakoda Cultural Tours

The Nakoda Cultural Tours feature Traditional Native Teaching and Activities that are provided by Hank Snow

Hank Snow was Nakoda born and raised in Morley, Alberta, Canada. He has been learning and practicing traditional culture all his life. Hank has delivered cultural experiences to many different groups that have come to Nakoda Lodge for the past fourteen years.

Cultural Activities Offered:

Two Hour Interpretive Hike
The most popular activity among clientele is the two hour interpretive hike that entails Nakoda history, Nakoda culture, and introduction of local editable plants, medicine herbs, native spirituality and the medicine wheel.
Minimum of ten (10) persons.

Hike to Mount Yumnathka
This activity evolves around a five hour hike to Mount Yumnathka which includes; Nakoda history, Nakoda culture, introduction of local editable plans, medicine herbs and native stories.
Minimum of ten (10) persons.

Stoney Handicrafts
A hands-on activity that incorporates the construction of handicrafts such as dream-catchers, beadwork, bannock on a stick, story telling and tepee rising.
Minimum of twenty (20) persons.

Four Day Cultural Camp
This four day cultural camp delivers various aspects of hands-on historical culture. Your group will experience; introduction of local editable plants and medicine herbs, hunting and dry meat preparation, hikes, talking circles, handy-craft skills, bow and arrow making, evening camp fires and a sweat lodge.

General Catering & Conference Centre Information
  1. All prices are subject to change and will be confirmed a minimum of three (3) months prior to the event. All prices are subject to a 15% Taxable Service Charge and 5% G.S.T.
  2. To guarantee your menu selections, we ask you to advise the hotel of your selection thirty (30) days prior to the function date. Limited dietary substitutions are available upon request. Please advise your coordinator of any special dietary requests a minimum of seven (7) business days in advance of your function.
  3. The Sales office must be notified of the guaranteed number of guests attending the function no later than seven (7) business days prior to the event. Guarantees are not subject to reduction. If no guarantee is given, the group will be charged for the initial numbers anticipated on the catering event order.
  4. Upon request and space permitting, the Dining Lodge will set-up seating for five (5) percent above the guaranteed number only. On sit down functions the customer will be charged for guaranteed number of meals or the actual numbers served, whichever number is greater.
  5. Should the number of guests attending the function differ greatly from the original number quoted, the hotel reserves the right to provide an alternative function room best suited for the group size.
  6. Major changes of the contracted function space set-up, with less than twenty-four (24) hours notice, will be subject to a charge equal to 50% of the published daily room rental rate.
  7. The Nakoda Lodge & Conference Centre is the supplier of all food & beverage items (with the exception of specialty cakes).
  8. No confetti or similar product is to be used on the Hotel & Dining Lodge premises. A minimum clean-up charge of $500.00 will apply.
  9. The Nakoda Lodge & Conference Centre is not responsible for any damage or loss to any articles left on the Property, prior to, during or following any event by the client or guest attending the function.
  10. Audio - visual equipment may be arranged through the Sales & Catering office at an agreed upon rental price.
  11. We require that the client review and sign a copy of the Event Proposal and promptly return the same to the Sales & Catering office.
  12. The Lodge will not permit the affixing of any decorations, signs or banners to the walls, floors or ceilings unless prior approval is given. All decorations must meet Nakoda Lodge & Conference Centre fire codes. No candles with open flames may be used unless pre-approved.
  13. All functions must pay a deposit of $1500.00 in order to secure your date. This amount will be deducted when the final invoice is finalized at the close of your function.
