Nakoda Lodge was offically opened on June 11, 1981.  Entirely an enterprise of the Stoney Tribe.  It is operted by the Goodstoney Band, under the leadership o Cheif John Snow, who is the Nakoda Learning Centre Chairman.  The Centre is open to all who share a sincere interest in the heritage and culture of the Stoney People.

Except from early Nakoda Lodge brochure.

The public is welcome to wander though the Guest Lodge and Conference Centre, please be mindful of other guests and events that may be taking place.  Nakoa on the Lake houses an outstanding cultural display consisting of a beautiful collection of museum pieces, mounted wild life and aboriginal art.
